Skandan Ananthasekar
Biography
Skandan Ananthasekar is a visiting fellow at the Brown University Pandemic Center. Previously, Skandan was a Science Policy Fellow at the Science and Technology Policy Institute (STPI) where he worked on a wide variety of biosecurity issues, including the intersection of biotechnology and artificial intelligence, indoor air quality, One Health, and bioelectronics. He has also worked as a biosecurity fellow at The Council on Strategic Risks, where he worked on issues related to the bioeconomy, biomanufacturing, and international biosecurity policy. Before biosecurity policy, Skandan was an outreach educator for the Mobile County Health Department, working to improve health inequity in Mobile, Alabama. Skandan holds a B.A. from Rice University in Biochemistry and Cell Biology and a M.A. from Georgetown University in Security Studies.
