Britt Lampert, PhD

Biography

Dr. Lampert is also a Fellow for Ending Bioweapons at the Council on Strategic Risks. She was a 2023 recipient of the Open Philanthropy Biosecurity Scholarship, which she used to landscape the use of open-source intelligence to detect biological threats. Her other research has focused on emerging technologies for reducing disease transmission.

Prior to working in biosecurity, Dr. Lampert worked at SpaceX. There, she developed the Dragon spacecraft water system, led R&D on astronaut food, and conducted research that improved collaboration between SpaceX and government partners. Britt also worked at the University of Minnesota, where she managed a laboratory that was funded by NASA, NIH and the USDA.
