Pandemic Center

Adam Abdullahi, PhD is a health specialist and infectious disease researcher whose work focuses on vaccines, diagnostics, medical countermeasures, and epidemic preparedness, particularly for emerging and epidemic-prone diseases in Africa. He is a Tenure-Track Fellow at the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria and a Departmental Associate at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and has held fellowship appointments at the University of Cambridge and the WHO Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence/Charité Center for Global Health. His research spans HIV, Lassa fever, mpox, SARS-CoV-2 and other emerging infectious diseases, with a focus on strengthening responses to emerging health threats and pandemic preparedness. His broader work examines how surveillance, diagnostics, vaccines and other medical countermeasures can be integrated into resilient health systems, and how scientific evidence can be translated into policy, practice and effective public health action.
