This past weekend (October 24–26), the Brown University Pandemic Center, the Horizon Institute for Public Service, and the Texas A&M Scowcroft Institute of International Affairs hosted the third annual Biosecurity Game Changers Workshop in Washington, D.C.
The event brought together early- and mid-career professionals exploring careers in biosecurity and pandemic preparedness policy, as well as the evolving intersection of AI and biology.
Our keynote speaker for this year was, Gerry Parker, Associate Dean for Global One Health at Texas A&M, opened the first day with an inspiring and insightful conversation that set the tone for future Game Changers to tackle key challenges in today’s biosecurity policy landscape.
This year’s participants stepped into the role of policymakers to examine opportunities, identify gaps, and explore career trajectories in U.S. and global biosecurity.
Attendees engaged in scenario exercises, policy pitch sessions, and in-depth discussions with leaders shaping the future of biosecurity. Their enthusiasm and insight reaffirmed the importance of preparing the next generation of policy innovators
