Amanda Cogan
Biography
Amanda is a graduate of the University of Central Florida where she received a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. She began her career in the legal field as a legal researcher and paralegal and quickly transitioned to the political world. She served as a Legislative Aide in the State of Florida House of Representatives, supporting the Chair of the Criminal Justice Committee and Ways & Means Committee. After managing a successful Congressional campaign Amanda headed to DC where she served as a Chief of Staff.
She later transitioned to the biosafety and biosecurity arena, serving as the Events and Logistics Coordinator for the Global Biological Policy and Programs at Nuclear Threat Initiative. There she supported the launch of the Global Biosecurity Dialog (GBD), Global Health Security Index, International Biosecurity and Biosafety Initiative for Science (IBBIS) and many other initiatives to further biosafety and biosecurity. She now joins the Pandemic Center as the Associate Director of Global Engagement and will be supporting the many initiatives of the Center in furthering their mission.
